I Have a Dream and So Should You!

DreamWe follow several leaders’ podcasts, e-newsletters, and books. Recently we came across the title, “I have a dream and so should you!” in one of our newsletters in honor of Martin Luther King’s birthday coming up. Every one of us has the chance to lead – in our workplace, in a small group, among friends, working on projects, within our families, or within ourselves.

One of the often-overlooked leadership traits is the ability to dream or imagine.

People who dream have more than they think they have. And this applies to all of us, as we walk through life.

Why dream?

Dreaming challenges us to set better goals. Dream bigger and have a desire to see the impossible occur. As you face health challenges that require digging deep – dream big! Do you want to run a 5K? Do you want to plant a garden? Do you want to learn a new language? Take a new job? Dream big.

Dreaming motivates us to act with boldness and courage. You do not have to accept the status quo. Be inspired to work harder and do more than you think you can do!

Dreaming reminds us to serve a bigger cause. Think larger than yourself. Ask yourself, “what if?” What impact could you have on others? How could you help the greater good, not just yourself.

Dreaming is not necessarily easy, in fact, it is hard.

Every person can ask, dream, and imagine a bigger and bolder life. Do not neglect this trait.

Dare to dream.
