  2. Look toward the future and do not stay looking backwards, making new memories.
  3. Exercise. Motion is lotion! Get that body moving, especially OUTSIDE.
  4. Establish healthy habits and do not underestimate the power of food and movement!
    • Consume a diet rich in vegetables and good fats, lean protein, and plenty of water
    • Oxygenate the blood and brain through moderate exercise and daily movement
    • Add brain training exercises such as Sudoku, Crosswords, Lumosity, Elevate
    • Have good sleep habits!
  5. Meet new people, talk to people, socialize, communicate.
  6. Have friends of all ages – younger, older, and in-between.
  7. See a natural medicine provider to help with natural remedies for health, but do not see 10’s of doctors – you may end up getting tests/procedures you do not need.
  8. Do not think of yourself as old. Keep on keeping on!
  9. Appreciate the strengths you have including cognitive strengths such as, wisdom, knowledge, and intelligence, as well as life experiences and do not be afraid to share those with others.
  10. Find ways to keep learning such as through traveling, spending time with younger people, reading books, learning a new craft/skill, making new recipes, planting a garden, starting a new hobby such as bike riding or fishing – experiencing new activities and situations. Do new things!

When we continue to be open to new things, positive things, chemicals change in our brains.

Remember, as we age, we gain wisdom. That is worth a lot.
