Tomato, Mozzarella & Basil Salad

This recipe is especially great with home-grown tomatoes from your garden, a friend’s garden, or the farmer’s market.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

3 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
½ cup olive oil, cold-pressed, extra-virgin
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
2 tbsp. finely chopped fresh basil
Pinch of kosher salt (or to taste)
Pinch of pepper (or to taste)

WHAT TO DO:

1. In a large serving dish, alternate slices of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.
2. Sprinkle with oil, vinegar, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
3. This is a great starter or appetizer, as well as a salad to serve with your favorite Italian dish.
